In honour of Forces

The Royal British Legion is holding an Armed Forces Day on Saturday, offering people the chance to learn more about the organisation and what it does in the community.

An act of remembrance starts at 10.45am at the war memorial garden at the end of Wellington Road before the focus moves to the Royal British Legion Club in Hilderthorpe Road.

Books and DVDs about the history of the Armed Forces and the club will be on sale and there will be an opportunity to join the organisation.

The front bar and Poppyfields restaurant will be open for meals and drinks throughout the day, with the concert room closing at 2.30pm.

Everyone is welcome.
