Headlands School’s Movember fund-raiser
Movember Day at Headlands School.
STUDENTS held a day in honour of the charity moustaches grown during Movember.
Movember day at Headlands School on Friday November 23 raised £102.27 which will be added to the £120 total collected by teacher, Johnathan Hooper.
Proceeds will go towards raising funds to help combat prostate and testicular cancer as well as raising awareness of other men’s health issues.
Mr Hooper said: “The support that has been given over the past month from pupils has been incredible and the success of the Movember day ran by sixth form is testament to that.
“Without their continued support, my upper lip would not be as warm and fuzzy as it is now.”
The sixth form charity committee organised the day’s events, which included a pin the moustache on the cowboy game.
Claire James, post-16 officer at Headlands, said: “We’re very proud of our sixth former’s fundraising efforts and ideas, and the work they put into each event they organise.”
