Free parking in Bridlington up to Christmas

SHOPPERS in Bridlington will be free to spend that little bit more this Christmas after East Riding of Yorkshire Council announced free parking for the three weekends leading up to the big day.

Drivers parking at pay and display areas in the town can do so for free from this weekend.

Generally, a day's parking is priced at between 3.20 and 3.50, and an hour's parking costs between 50 pence and 1.30.

Councillor Stephen Parnaby OBE, leader of the council, said: "This initiative was very popular last year and we are pleased to offer it again this December.

"We hope that people will take advantage of the free parking by coming to Bridlington to do their Christmas shopping."

The offer is designed to help residents, visitors and businesses.

All council car parks will be free from 8am on Saturdays until 8am on Mondays.
