Flower club enjoys a trip to national event
MEMBERS of Bridlington Flower Club enjoyed a trip to London thanks to Lottery cash.
The club received a grant of 8,150 from the Awards For All scheme, part of which helped to fund a visit to the capital.
They joined flower enthusiasts from all over the country at Rejoice, an event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies (NAFAS).
Westminster Abbey was filled with 100 exhibits and the trip to the capital also included a visit to Osborne House, NAFAS’ headquarters.
A club spokeswoman said: “It was a great opportunity for Bridlington Flower Club to visit and enjoy friendship as well as learning about floral art and design on a national level.”
The rest of the money will be used to organise a Christmas workshop and demonstration in Bridlington and other events later in the year.
