A SINGING group had a
welcome donation allowing them to buy new equipment for its performances.

Bridbeat received donations from a variety of sources, including Bridlington Lions, and have bought two speakers, two wireless microphones and a dual karaoke player amongst other items.

The group, who often perform at events in the Bridlington area, had previously borrowed equipment for their performances.

Alan Newell, current chair of the Bridbeat committee, said: “We are now self sufficient enough. It has definitely improved our performances.

“It is only due to very generous support from a lot of people. We are doing something that we really enjoy and we are helping other people raise money for good causes.”

Celia Bateman, musical
director of Bridbeat, said: “We are very, very grateful for the donations that have allowed us to buy it.”

Future Bridbeat events will include performances for both the Bridlington and North Wolds Lions Clubs, Portland Place Residents Association and The Royal British Legion’s Alderson House.

The Christmas season begins at Leven followed by White Rose Lodge, Riding for the Disabled, a Christmas concert on behalf of the Lions at the Spa Royal Hall, Applegarth Court and Matson Court.

The group’s diary is now full until the end of the year with many dates already reserved for 2013.

Anyone with any enquiries can contact the secertary Heather on 604892 or June, who takes bookings, on 603387.
