Diamonds are stolen in house burglary

DIAMONDS, designer jewellery and a large amount of foreign cash were amongst a number of high value items stolen from a house on Canton Villas.

A small porch window was smashed to unlock the Yale latch door to the house which was entered sometime between 4pm and 10pm on Friday, January 9.

Jewellery including a gold Gucci branded bracelet, a ladies one carat diamond solitaire necklace and a gold sovereign bracelet were then stolen from the bedroom.

Two pairs of men's gold cufflinks were also taken, including a pair embedded with mother of pearl, diamonds and rubies.

A ladies flat link gold bracelet, a dark brown leather purse and a large amount of Euros completed the haul of stolen valuables.

Police would like to speak to anyone who knows the whereabouts of the stolen items or saw anything suspicious in the area.
