Bridlington’s tourist businesses will be looking forward to a successful summer season after a huge improvement of the water quality of the town’s beaches was announced.

The results of the Marine Conservation Society’s Good Beach Guide 2014 saw improvements at two of the town’s beaches which reached the recommended standard, indicating excellent water quality.

Bridlington North Beach improved from mandatory standard to recommended, but the most startling find was at South Cliff Beach which now ranks as excellent having failed water quality tests in 2013.

South Beach maintained a mandatory standard while Danes Dike and South Landing at Flamborough achieved the recommended standard.
