A man has branded the pile of decomposing rubbish dumped outside his home by fly tippers a “health hazard” and is calling on the council to remove it.
Michael Wood, 67, of Bright Crescent in Bridlington, has lived with the pile of rotting carpets, underlay and wooden furniture outside his kitchen window since August.
He said: “It wants to be removed. It is an absolute health hazard. It is rotting and it smells, all I can smell is rotting carpets.
“It is right at the back of my kitchen and I’m in the bottom flat, it is all piled up round the back.
“Why should I have to come out of my kitchen and be faced with that?”
Mr Wood is now calling on East Riding of Yorkshire Council to remove the waste, and has even written about his situation to Prime Minister David Cameron.
