Bridlington man arrested in murder probe

A BRIDLINGTON man was due in court this morning charged in connection with the murder of a Cambridgeshire man.

John Smith, 66, of Woldgate, Bridlington, was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) and has been charged with assisting an offender.

He was due to appear at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court this morning (Wednesday).

Llywelyn Thomas, 76, was discovered in his home in Ely Road on the morning of Sunday, December 18, 2011. He had last been seen alive the previous evening.

Frankie Parker, 25, of Nene Road, Ely, and Gary Smith, 20, of no fixed address, have both been charged with his murder. They are next due to appear in court on April 2.
