Bridlington actor Shane Zaza appears at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London

BRIDLINGTON born actor Shane Zaza is taking to the stage of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London in a production of Macbeth.

He is appearing in a new education production of Shakespeare's classic Macbeth at Shakespeare's Globe, produced especially for teenagers by Globe Education. A limited number of free tickets are also available to members of the public.

Shane, 25, who grew up in Bridlington and now lives in North London, is playing the part of Donalbain in the new education production.

More than 14,000 Year Nine students will see it during March as part of the Globe's acclaimed Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank programme.

"There is a magical atmosphere at the Globe which can be difficult to put into words.

"But what better way to introduce young people to Shakespeare?" said the former Headlands school student.

In addition to the free performances, schools have access to an interactive online learning resource at www.playingshakespeare.org, as well as in-school workshops provided by Globe Education Practitioners.

The project was launched in 2007 as part of Globe Education's commitment to providing creative approaches to the teaching and learning of Shakespeare.

Shane, whose parents still live in Bridlington, has taken roles in theatre, film and television, his latest TV appearance being in a new BBC3 comedy drama, "Mouth to Mouth."
