Children at Christ Church pre-school celebrated Valentine’s Day by learning and acting out a traditional wedding service.
Valentine’s Day is special for all couples, and the children at the pre-school found out all about it during their own special wedding ceremony last Friday, February 14.
Four-year-olds Chloe Smith and Layton Smith (not related) took part in their own pretend marriage service, presided over by the Reverend Peter Hollsworth, curate of Christ Church.
And this week’s half term break came in handy - the couple took a week off afterwards to learn about a traditional honeymoon.
The bride, dressed in a traditional white dress and fur coat, was given away by Adam Hall.
The groom’s best man was Connor Pawson and both were dressed very smartly.
It was a perfect occasion for the children to dress in their best clothes and the six bridesmaids all held flowers.
The celebration of the Valentine’s wedding continued with a party at Christ Church to mark the special event.
Christ Church Early Learning is open for all two, three and four-year-old children.
And if the grown ups fancy learning more about marriage, then Christ Church run well attended Marriage courses on a regular basis.
