Brewer earns council place

A LOCAL brewer has won a place on a council which aims to help other independent breweries across the north.

Tom Mellor, co-founder and owner of the Wold Top Brewery in Wold Newton has been elected as a council member for SIBA - the Society of Independent Brewers, North.

Formed in 1980 as the Small Independent Brewers’ Association, SIBA’s mission is to campaign on behalf of independent brewers to ensure that they have the best possible opportunity to bring their goods to market.

Tom is delighted with the appointment and is looking forward to helping other independent breweries:

“SIBA does an amazing job helping breweries like ours to prosper by providing advice and guidance and by representing us in government and regulatory matters,” he said.

Wold Top Brewery produces award-winning real ales that are brewed using traditional methods and home grown ingredients.
