Blockbuster role for actor Shane
FROM Bridlington to Hollywood – a young actor is to star alongside Tom Hanks in a new blockbuster.
Shane Zaza, 21, (pictured right) is about to launch his movie career after landing a part in the film version of the smash hit novel The Da Vinci Code.
The former Headlands School pupil has just appeared in Players at West Yorkshire Playhouse and will now move to Leeds in preparation for his forthcoming role, in which he will be starring alongside Tom Hanks (pictured below right in his Oscar-winning Forrest Gump role) and Amelie star Audrey Tautou.
He will appear in a crucial scene alongside the lead actors, showing them how to work a hand-held computer which helps them find a key part of the code. He said: "I found out on the second day of rehearsals for Players. I did a film for the BBC called Watch Over Me but this is my first feature film. It's definitely a big one. Everyone will see it and know about it and apparently the producers have got money to burn.
"I'm a technical whizz-kid sat next to Tom Hanks on the tube and he's trying to work this handheld PC.
"I turn round and say: 'You don't wanna do it like that mate,' then show him how to work it so he can crack this particular part of the code."
Shane is currently living in London but his family still live in Bridlington, which he said he likes because he gets both the city life and the seaside.
