Bempton School's double celebration
BEMPTON Primary School had two reasons to celebrate this week after receiving a positive Ofsted report and impressive new playground equipment.
The school was awarded the second-highest grade across the board in its latest Ofsted report, with the pupils' behaviour singled out and marked as 'outstanding'.
Inspector Derek Sleightholme commented the school was a "happy and smiley place to be" and headteacher Lynn O'Reilly was delighted with the results.
"I am very pleased indeed. We have working towards this since our last report and this is one of the best we've had in the last few years," said Mrs O'Reilly.
"We all worked very hard towards it. It was an intense couple of days, but we are very pleased with the outcome."
A further boost for the school came with the recent arrival of brand new playground equipment which had been budgeted for last year.
The equipment includes a wooden adventure trail and new swings.
Mrs O'Reilly said that the pupils loved it.
"It's fantastic for the children and the parents like it too," she said.
