Battle at Burton Agnes
VISITORS to Burton Agnes Hall over the weekend could have been forgiven for thinking they had stepped into a warzone.
Members of The Sealed Knot, Europe's largest Civil War reinactment society, took over the grounds to recreate battles from the English Civil War.
There were also a variety of tents and stalls from leathermakers to woodworkers to give visitors a taste of what life was like in 17th century England.
Keith Robinson who helped organise the event and who has been a member of The Sealed Knot for over 20 years, said: "It was a super day. Even the weather was kind to us when we were staging the major battles. The kids always think it's fantastic and we try to provide an idea of what the 17th century was like and to get visitors involved as much as we can. We've had people leave messages on our website saying what a lovely time they had and how thrilled with it all they were."
The Sealed Knot society is now looking forward to their next big event in York this August.
