An early Christmas gift for Bridlington lifeboat
FESTIVE cheer extended beyond the boundaries of Belgrave Court as Bridlington lifeboat benefited from £260 raised at the care home's Christmas party.
Raffles, a tombola and cake stalls were some of the fundraising events at the party on December 13 and Richard Netherwood, director of Belgrave Court, said that the day was a huge success.
“We were really pleased with the turnout, despite the cold windy weather everyone made an effort and really enjoyed themselves – not just the residents but their relatives too,” he said.
“There was lots of carol singing and it was a super time for everyone.”
Mr Netherwood added that a recent Free Press report about Bridlington lifeboat hoping to raise money for a new vessel prompted the residents to choose the lifeboat to receive the money.
