PLANNING a trip to Bridlington and Scarborough hospitals has just got easier for wheelchair users - thanks to the local NHS Trust joining an online facilities directory.

Both hospitals are now included in the Direct Enquires website, which is primarily used by wheelchair users and their families to view the disabled facilities in a venue so they can plan their visit accordingly.

The website includes information such as site plans and where disabled parking facilities, toilets and lifts are located in the hospitals - which will also prove useful to parents with pushchairs.

James Hayward, director of facilities at Scarborough and North East Yorkshire Healthcare NHS Trust - which runs both hospitals - said: "We are delighted to be working in partnership with Direct Enquiries to provide our patients and visitors with vital information about our hospitals and the facilities which we provide.

"After visiting our hospitals, patients and visitors will be able to give us feedback via the website which will be invaluable in helping us to continue to improve the accessibility of our services."

For more information go to the website www.direct enquiries.com and search for Bridlington Hospital or Scarborough Hospital.
