10,000 people at carnival
'PERFECT' weather and huge crowds made this weekend's Lions' Carnival a roaring success.
Bridlington Lions public relations officer Peter Jay said the event, held in Limekiln Lane on Sunday, saw more than 10,000 people cram into the area to enjoy the sun, sea and stalls.
Mr Jay said: "It went brilliantly, it was an absolutely superb day. I think it was probably the most successful event we have had."
Visitors to the carnival enjoyed different dog acts, a car boot sale, as well as more than 50 different stalls situated along Sewerby cliff top.
Mr Jay said: "I think it is safe to say there was something for everybody.
"I think all the stalls had a super day, and the caterers never had less than half a dozen people in their queues."
Proceeds from the carnival are expected to reach the 5,000 mark, and will be used to help the various charities which the Lions support.
The Lions extended their thanks to all members of the public who attended the day, as well as the carnival's sponsors.
