LIFEBOAT fund-raisers have presented the RNLI with a cheque for almost £5,000.
It is the result of a year’s work by members of the Bridlington Ladies’ Lifeboat Luncheon Club, who handed over their cheque for £4,984.83 to Bridlington lifeboat coxswain Stuart McKie at their annual general meeting at the Expanse Hotel last Wednesday.
Chairman Freda Davis said the money had been raised through the tireless work of the committee and luncheon club members through coffee mornings, raffles, and knitted goods.
She paid special thanks to Ann Clough and her staff at Whiteley’s for all their hard work in raising funds for the RNLI and to various hotels and outlets who had sold their Easter chicks and other goods.
Mrs Davis also thanked the committee and received reports from Gill Cape, secretary via Susan Witty and treasurer Gillian Bapty.
Members were told of a Spring Event to be given by the Rev R Amos on May 19 at St John’s Burlington at 2pm, with afternoon tea and cakes.
There is also a table top stall at St John’s Burlington on June 25, a quiz night on September 5 at the Ransdale Hotel and a Christmas coffee morning on November 23.
