PHOTOGRAPHS taken on board an all-weather lifeboat whilst at sea are among entries for a national award.
Jamie McHale and Stuart Tibbett are lifeboat crew members from Bridlington, and are both in the running for RNLI Photographer of the Year Award. The pair are among 12 short-listed entries from stations and beaches around the UK coastline.
Stuart, who has volunteered with the RNLI at Bridlington for 20 years, said: “I actually took the picture on my phone, I try to take some while I am out because the beauty of phones now we can take pictures to show the public what we do. It is really unexpected to make the shortlist. It was a nice surprise.”
For the first time in the annual competition’s history members of the public are able to vote for their favourite picture on the RNLI’s Facebook page from today to Monday November 12.
The winning entry will be the photo with the most votes at 5pm on Monday, November 12.
To vote visit www.facebook.com/rnli and click on the Photographer of the Year tab after ‘liking’ the page.
