I never agreed with the council’s decision to sell off Beaconsfield Car Park.

But they did and we are now starting to feel the impact of their decision.

On Friday 28 October, the scooter weekend started, which I agree is good for our economy.

However, now that the car park is closed, this has put pressure on street parking.

Locals, hotels and B&Bs in Tennyson Avenue are finding it difficult to park their vehicles.

Owners are having to move their cars to other areas to allow their customers to park. I have never seen the side roads so full!

Visitors need to park near their hotel, the park and ride isn’t the answer!

So, those councillors who made the decision to sell the car park need to think about the people who elected them to serve the community in their best interest and not to get involved in selling land off.

There’s plenty to do for a councillor, rather than sat in County Hall, take a look at our pavements, rather than having their picture taken, turning them into mini celebs.

Now there’s a worthy project for them to do, at the same time they could say hello to their constituents or have they forgotten us.
