Letter: Must keep facades of Bridlington

It’s great that the town is undergoing a serious face-lift through such worthwhile projects as the regeneration of the Hilderthorpe Road area. It’s very much needed.

How previously could one describe Bridlington?

Take an affluent seaside resort, a rival even of Scarborough, with stunning Georgian and Victorian architecture. (What makes towns special are their grandeurs).

Then, in their quest to be a ‘modern town’, the council let a bunch of vandal developers loose who rip the facades off all the historic buildings along the Esplanade and King Street etc.

It’s fabulous to see some sensible town planning!.
