Letter: Is there any hope for the future?

Cuts to services leaves roads in need of maintenance.
Cuts to services leaves roads in need of maintenance.

If the council tax rise had been 5% it would have triggered a referendum – and we all know what the result would be.

Meanwhile, despite all the “savage Tory cuts”, councillors’ pay remains the same, as does the dire state of the roads. The “Your East Riding” council magazine name could easily be changed to “My East Riding” since every issue features prominent photos of our esteemed leader Cllr Parnaby – giving the unfortunate impression that EYRC is a one man band.

Is there hope for the future?

Better roads, the closure of that propaganda sheet, and a complete absence of photographs of Mr Parnaby?
