I am researching the life and career of the actor Guy Standeven. He was born August 28, 1928, in Scarborough and died in Hammersmith in 1998. He was born as Marcus Guy Wyndham Standeven.
He was one of the most prolific actors in British history as he probably did over 1,000 appearances in all mediums. What’s interesting about his career is how (as well as hundreds of appearances as an extra) he did credited speaking roles on TV and in film as well as theatre work, religious films, training films and radio. His most high profile role was in the children’s TV series Knightmare as a talking wall/troll and he’s fondly remembered by his colleagues who have kindly replied to my questions. In fact, everyone I have contacted, such as Joan Mills who directed him in some plays at the Royal Court, have fond memories of the man.
I am writing an article about him and any information or contact details of someone who might be able to help would be greatly appreciate, contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any details.
