AN aspiring local comedian is lining up his first ever solo gig in aid of a very special cause.
Local lad Nathan Ambler, 21, is putting on a charity comedy night – his first time performing stand up alone in front of an audience – in aid of the Candlelighters children’s cancer charity.
He will perform the show at the Pack Horse, on Market Place in Old Town, on Saturday, October 1 from around 8.30pm.
“It is a cause that is close to me so even though it will be my first time on my own, I’m looking forward to raising money for the charity,” said Nathan.
“I’ve been writing stuff for the last few months. It’s going to be a bit nervy, but you’ve got to start somewhere.”
Nathan described his comedy as “quite close to the bone”, similar to leading funnymen Frankie Boyle and Jimmy Carr. Entry to the comedy evening will be free, although donations for the charity are welcome.
