Two Bridlington entrepreneurs are jumping with joy after their new trampoline business smashed all targets.
Gravity indoor trampoline park – located within the giant Xscape Yorkshire attraction – opened in February 2015 and has since welcomed well over 300,000 visitors.
The Yorkshire-based company, founded by Bridlington-born Michael Harrison and Harvey Jenkinson, employs 60 people at the site and is now expanding, with two more parks planned for 2016.
Michael said: “It’s been an incredible first year and as a result we’ve already launched another site in Maidstone, with two more planned this year in Norwich and Glasgow.
“It all started right here at Xscape Yorkshire and that’s given us a great springboard for growth, which is especially pleasing being from the county. The reaction we’ve had during the last 12 months has been phenomenal – it’s affordable, inclusive and healthy, which is a great mix.”
Gravity runs a huge range of different events including disability sessions on Thursdays at a reduced price, which give visitors the chance to enjoy a relaxed bounce with carers, for example. They also provide sensory tents which are used during the sessions.
Jade Elliott, marketing manager of Xscape Yorkshire, said: “Gravity has had a really positive impact on our attraction. We estimate the number of extra people that have come through Xscape Yorkshire’s doors is well beyond the 300,000 people who visited Gravity alone as groups often break off to enjoy different activities.”
