POLICE, firefighters and lifeboat crewmembers paid a visit to Park Nursery to give youngsters a taste of life in the emergency services.
Pre-school supervisor Becky Fisher said that the children were enthralled by the special visitors who let the youngsters try on items of uniform and get to grips with their safety equipment.
Becky said: “The children absolutely loved it. They loved trying on all the outfits and the firefighters let them have a go on the hose, which was great fun for them.”
The visit also inspired some youngsters to think about a future career in the emergency services, although the most popular ‘job’ among the children was rather unusual, as Becky explained: “Lots of the children wanted to be sharks after speaking to the lifeboat men!” she said.
