A Skipsea resident is celebrating after shedding an astounding nine stone.
Former nurse Hilary McLysagh retired in 2012 and decided she needed to take action after tipping the scales at 21stone 10lb.
So in September of that year Hilary joined her Brandesburton Weight Watchers meeting and her local Gym and has never looked back.
Hilary has not only lost nine stone, she has also changed her relationship with food, improved her health.
Her blood pressure has improved and she has dropped from a dress size 26 to a size 14.
“I am so proud of Hilary,” saidf Weight Watchers leader Janet Wark. “She has been such a huge inspiration to myself and the other members of the Brandesburton Weight Watchers meeting. She is proof that you can lose weight at any age and keep it off and keep it off by making small subtle changes to your eating habits while still enjoying a little treat every day. It is well known within our meeting that Hilary enjoys a Gin & Tonic and I know Hilary will be celebrating her weight loss with one! We have nicknamed her the incredible shrinking woman”.
Hilary said: “I can’t begin to tell you how much better I feel as a result of losing nine stone. From increased energy to loads more confidence - I’ve never felt better. I challenge anyone to lose weight to just go for it, it’s worth it, I feel fantastic! There’s no magic trick or short cut to gaining a healthier, slimmer shape. What makes all the difference is the motivation and good advice I get from Janet and the support and encouragement we all give each other in the meeting.”
