The West Hill area of Bridlington is to get its own pharmacy following a three and a half year struggle with the NHS to get the go-ahead.
James Hesp, managing director of Meds Uk ltd, bought a vacant property on Bessingby Gate with the intention of opening up a new pharmacy which has been described as ‘essential to the West Hill area.’
James said: “We have had multiple failed attempts to get it off the ground.
“We have been at logger-heads with the NHS litigation authority – there were concerns regarding the viability of a pharmacy on Bessingby Gate.
“There was originally a plan to put a pharmacy in Bridlington Hospital and I have argued from day one that it would be better in the heart of Bridlington.
“But after three and a half years we have finally got there and it has been approved.”
