STROKE patients recovering at Bridlington Hospital have a new specialist chair to help them feel more comfortable.

The Careflex rehabilitation chair, specially designed to be completely adjustable to offer the precise support many stroke sufferers need, has been provided at a cost of around £2,000 by the Bridlington League of Hospital and Community Friends.

It is being used on Warters Ward, which is used for stroke rehabilitation.

Chair Margaret Peel said: “The hospital told us one already exists in Scarborough which had proved extremely beneficial and hoped we might be able to provide a similar chair for patients here in Bridlington.“
