SHOPPERS were not just flocking to the check-out at Morrisons, they were also checking out their health in a mobile NHS unit.

A team of Bridlington NHS health trainers visited the store’s car park to give advice on making healthy lifestyle changes and to offer shoppers free health checks.

The health trainers support people who want to make positive changes to their lifestyle and give advice and practical assistance in a range of areas such as stopping smoking, losing weight, stress and substance abuse.

Support is on a one to one basis and is completely free and health trainer Natalie Belt said that the Morrisons visit was a hit with shoppers.

She said: “It went really, really well. We did over 70 health checks and introduced 35 people to our online programme, which for a Tuesday morning wasn’t bad at all!”
