Groups share in civic cash

Organisations across Bridlington have shared £3,450 worth of town council grants between them.

In its regular award of small grants, Bridlington Town Council agreed to give cash help to 18 of those who had applied.

Speaking for the council as a whole , Mayor Shelagh Finlay said they had been very pleased by the number of organisations who had applied under their small grants scheme.

Recipients includes a theatre company, several sports clubs or groups a music festival a choir and a community group.

The full list has been announced with the amounts awarded to each group as follows: The Remarkable Theatre Company, £200, Bridlington Branch of the Royal Engineers Association, £150, Bridlington Cricket Club,£150, BSCC Men’s Football Team (1st team),£150, Coastal Voices Choir,£300, Bridlington Hockedy Club,£150, Bridlington Special Pool Support Group,£100, Bridlington Petanque Club, £150, Bridlington Swimming Club, £150, Bridlington Central Action Group, £400, Bridlington Rangers Junior Football Club,£150 Bridlington Club for Young People, £200, RE Action Group, £100, East Coast Churches and Community Music Festival,£250, Bridlington branch of Cruse Bereavement Care, £200,Bridlington Lawn Tennis Club,£150, 252 (Bridlington) Squadron Air Training Corps,£250, Junior Seasiders £250.
