An off-duty fireman dialled 999 after a lorry carrying gas left the road near Lisset

Humberside Police were in attendance at the A165, Lisset Lane, near Driffield, after the heavy goods ditched itself at the side of the road.

A spokesman for Humberside Police said: “A 999 call was made to the police at 6.45am this morning Wednesday February 3), reporting a tanker carrying non-flammables had gone into a

ditch at the cross roads on A165, Lisset Lane, Lisset, Driffield.

“The driver of the tanker was still in cabin complaining of a shoulder injury.

“A fire engine, an ambulance and police attended the scene.”

The road was not blocked and no special requirements were necessary.

The tanker company arranged for the vehicle to be recovered.
