BOUNCY castles, barbecues and plenty of sunshine all helped make this year’s Flamborough School Gala a big hit with visitors.

The annual event attracted hundreds of families to the school to enjoy a range of attractions from marshall arts demonstrations, performances by Bridlington Classic Pop Singers, charity stalls and even a visit by a fire engine.

Gillian Ainley, school governor and treasurer of the Home School Association which organised the event, said that it was ‘very successful’ and raised £1,700 to go towards costs outside of the school budget such as special trips and equipment for the children.

She added: “The weather was very kind to us, which certainly helped, and we are very happy with the amount raised.”
