FLOOD alerts are in place for the River Hull Upper catchment area which includes Kilham and Beeford.
The Environment Agency alert is one of a total of 28 for the North East of England in place today amid heavy and persistent downpours which are expected to continue throughout the day.
Troughout this morning (Friday July 6) heavy rain showers are expected from the east travelling westwards across the region.
The Environment Agency has stated that some of this rain is likely to be heavy, which has the potential to cause localised surface water problem, and saturated ground means that rivers will respond to these showers.
They will continue to monitor the situation and keep checking back with the Free Press at www.bridlingtonfreepress.co.uk for further updates.
