FORMER Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott chose a sunny day to visit Bridlington last week, and gave the thumbs up to fish and chips in the town.
Lord Prescott, who visited the West Hill Community Centre earlier in the day to attend a community surgery, chose to eat fish and chips from Busy Bees, on West Street - and he only had good things to say about the area.
“The fish and chips were lovely, they’re much better than the ones down south!” said Lord Prescott.
“What a fantastic day to be in Bridlington and look along the beach at scenery like this - it looks beautiful in the sunshine.
“The Spa building looks marvellous, I didn’t know too much about it before it was refurbished but I have seen the variety of events they have on and it really is an asset to the town.”
Coun Shelagh Finlay, who represents the south ward on East Riding of Yorkshire and Bridlington Town Councils, invited Lord Prescott to Bridlington.
