TO CELEBRATE the success of the pontoon development at Bridlington Harbour, the Royal Yorkshire Yacht Club and the Bridlington Harbour Commissioners held a competition to reward the most festive boat in the harbour over Christmas.

Seven boats entered the competition, with judging taking place on December 22. The winner of the competition was the boat Tessador, owned by Keith Richardson, with the runner up Cheeky Monkey, owned by Laurence Ellis.

Commodore at the Yacht Club Steve Stanton said: “We are both extremely pleased with the interest and as the Bridlington Harbour is the focal point of the town we will be repeating and indeed expanding the competition for Christmas 2013.

“The interest throughout the harbour community is such that we are sure we can promise an even more illuminating spectacle next year.”
