A FANCY dress Christmas quiz night raised over £500 for the Katie Walker Cancer Trust.
On Sunday December 23 staff at the Friendly Forester, Martongate, Bridlington, held an evening of fun and games in aid of the local cancer charity.
A total of £115 was collected on the evening, bringing the total raised for the charity by the pub in 2012 to over £5000.
Organised by Richard Wragg, kitchen manager at the pub, over 200 guests enjoyed the evening, with many getting into fancy dress. Richard said: “Everyone gets behind it, I think because it is a local charity event. It was a really good night, the pub was packed out.”
The staff at the Friendly Forester earlier this year braved a bungee jump in May for the charity, and again held a music festival fund-raiser to generate donations.
The trust was set up in memory of Katie Walker and raises money for research into cancer prevention. For more information visit katiewalkercancertrust.co.uk.
