A statement has been issued by the family of missing Riccall man Simon Hodgson-Greaves who was reported missing after his camper van was found at Bempton Cliffs.

Simon’s family are urging him to make contact with them to let them know he is safe, as he has been missing for more than 10 days.

Searches are continuing around the Bempton Cliffs area near Bridlington, where his camper van was found in the RSPB car park on Saturday 21 December 2013.

His mum and sisters, Julia, Rachel and Kate, have issued the following message to Simon, 47, in the hope that he will get in touch:

“Simon, we hope that you are safe and well and we ask that you contact either the police or one of us to let us know that you are. We miss you very much and we can help sort out anything if you will only talk to us.

“Just also to let you know that mum is not well again and would really like to see you as soon as possible please.

“Thinking of you and hoping we will see you very soon. Lots of love, Mum, Julia, Rachel and Kate.”

Simon was last seen by a member of his family on Sunday 15 December. He is known to go on frequent camping trips and likes to go walking.

Police are appealing to the public, especially those who have been in the Bempton Cliffs area, to contact them with information.

He is described as white, around 6ft tall, with a slim build. He has sandy coloured hair, a greying beard and moustache, blue eyes and wears spectacles. It is not known what he will be wearing, however, he is known to dress very smartly and often wears tweed jackets, shirts and scarves.
