Fake banknote arrests

FOUR people have been arrested and charged with using counterfeit £20 notes in shops in Bridlington.

Now police are asking all shops and outlets to check to see if they have been duped by the counterfeit money.

In most cases the notes were issued in payment for small value items.

The suspects, A 27-year-old man from Immingham, and 31-year-old man, 29-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, all from Grimsby, were arrested in the town centre on Sunday.

They have now been released on police bail to appear at Bridlington Magistrates Court on Wednesday November 16.

Police are asking local shops and outlets to check £20 notes for the following serial numbers: CC 0159 8128, DK 1723 3954, EE 6396 7314, BC 0156 0871.

Anyone finding notes with these numbers on them should hand them in to police.
