Pocklington School welcomed a special visitor yesterday, as The Duke of York added a royal touch to the school’s 500th anniversary celebrations.

Staff and pupils at the school had the honour of meeting Prince Andrew, who was visiting on the occasion of the Biennial Inspection of Pocklington School Combined Cadet Force (CCF).

Headmaster Mark Ronan said: “I was immensely proud by the way in which pupils and staff engaged with the visit by the Duke of York today, and impressed and appreciative of the time that Prince Andrew took with our pupils.”
