SEWERBY Hall and Gardens has a patriotic new look in its flowerbed.

Earlier in the year, Bridlington school children were invited to come up with their own ideas for a flowerbed on the lawn in front of the Orangery.

The lucky winner with a design of the Great Britain Flag was Mollie Howarth, 10, from St Mary’s RC Primary School.

The theme of the competition was the Royal Wedding, with Mollie’s winning design featuring yellow flowers spelling out the names William and Kate.

Martin Burnhill, manager at Sewerby Hall and Gardens, said: “Our congratulations go to Mollie for her winning design.

“Mollie’s entry was picked because of its very effective simplicity. Her design makes a stunning flowerbed and really compliments the rest of the gardens on the Sewerby estate.”
