EQUIPMENT for cannabis cultivation and a number of cannabis plants were discovered in the loft of a Bridlington house.

They were found by police executing a search warrant in connection with stolen property, but when they entered the house in Cranbeck Close, Bridlington, shortly after 1pm on Tuesday they were surprised to find a cannabis factory in the loft.

It contained heat lamps, a ventilator and around 15 mature plants and 24 smaller saplings, which together with the equipment have been confiscated.

A number of allegedly stolen items were also recovered from the house.

A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the discovery.
