Police have described two Driffield girls as "sensible" for refusing a lift home with a stranger near Driffield.

Officers were called after 18-year-old and 13-year-old were approached by a stranger, driving a silver car, who offered them a lift home while they were out running on Monday January 25 at 7pm.

A police spokesman said: "The incident had happened on the road between Langtoft and Kilham around 40 minutes prior to the call to the police.

"The women sensibly did not accept a lift from the driver were not harmed in any way."

Police did not confirm if they thought the man had any criminal intentions.
