A HOSPITAL porter is stepping into his running shoes to run 10k for Children with Leukaemia.
David Tonks, 24, of Marshall Avenue, will take part in the Bupa Great Manchester Run this Sunday, May 15.
He is confident of blitzing the route – which starts and finishes in Manchester city centre and passes sights such as the Old Trafford Stadium.
David, who works at Bridlington Hospital, has been in training for the challenge for several months.
He said: “I have enjoyed running for most of my life, but I thought I would do something to benefit somebody else.
“I have been training for the last four or five months, running along Sewerby clifftops and around Bridlington, so I think I’ll be OK on Sunday.”
David is nearing the £100 mark in sponsorship, but if you would like to sponsor him, call him on 07730438620.
