A WOMAN screamed for help before being dragged by the hair and then kicked in the face by her own boyfriend, a court heard.
Father-of-two Mark Jones, 45, hit Laurrette Rhodes in a drunken rage, assaulted a child and racially abused a babysitter by punching and swearing at him.
Jones, formerly of Victoria Road, Bridlington, left Miss Rhodes with two black eyes.
A police officer was so shocked at her blood-soaked face she was immediately taken to Scarborough Hospital.
Miss Rhodes remembers nothing of the attack – but is standing by him.
Jones had known Miss Rhodes for 19 months – but has two children by two separate women.
He carried out an almost identical attack on Mandy Eccles in Bridlington on December 23 2008 by kicking her ribs and strangling her with his bare hands after going out drinking during their turbulent three-year affair.
Jones, now of Mount Pleasant, Ackworth, in Pontefract, pleaded guilty to a charge of causing actual bodily harm, racially aggravated assault and common assault and was committed to Hull Crown Court for sentence.
Crown barrister Jharna Jobes told the court Jones and Rhodes had gone out on October 15 and returned home separately.
She said Ms Rhodes remembered little after 4am but the house occupants heard her screaming.
She said Miss Rhodes had an injury to her lip which was bleeding and Jones had grabbed hold of her and thrown her on the bed.
He told the babysitter he was “a German scum bag” after he punched him.
“He pulled her hair,” said Miss Jobes. “There was a sound of tearing. He pulled her into the living room and stamped on her head and on her face.”
The police were called and they arrived to find Jones locking himself in the bathroom.
He claimed he had reacted because his drink had been drugged.
The court heard he had recently finished his 12-month suspended sentence after attacking Miss Eccles and claimed he had learnt his lesson.
Miss Eccles had been sworn at and kicked in the ribs, when Jones went in the kitchen and produced a knife pricking her skin.
As Mandy Eccles grabbed the knife he pulled back the blade cutting her left hand.
He then said: “You know where that is going to. I will cut you in two.”
Defence barrister Nigel Clive said: “Miss Rhodes is in the public gallery and is standing by the defendant.
“She understands his difficulties. She does not forgive him for what he has done. His big difficulty is drink.”
He said Jones had been attending an alcohol treatment programme to reduce his consumption and had been dry since December.
Sentencing, Recorder Anton Lodge, QC, told Jones: “What took place on October 15 was disgraceful violence.
“I don’t accept you were drugged. You have been before the court for alcohol related violence against a woman before.”
He said the pictures of Miss Rhodes showed her face covered in blood with two black eyes.
Recorder Lodge told Jones: “I should be sending you to prison.
“The reason, I am not, is I do not think it will serve in your best interests or anybody who comes into contact with you in the long term.”
He ordered Jones should be given a 36 week suspended prison sentence comply with an alcohol treatment programme and a curfew from 9pm to 7am.
He was allowed to walk free, but not before Recorder Lodge told him: “If you go around beating up any women again you will be going to prison.”
