Police are appealing for two young women to come forward

Police were called at around 8pm on Friday July 3, reporting concern for the safety of a man in the sea at Fraisthorpe.

Police and the Coast Guard attended but the 67-year-old man had died at the scene.

A number of witnesses came forward at the scene, however some of the witnesses names were not recorded. The officer preparing the file for the coroner is appealing for the two young women who were sat on the sand and apparently saw the man walk towards the sea to come forward.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

If anyone knows of the two young women, please can you pass this message on and ask them to call Humberside Police on 101, quoting log number 546 of 03/07/2015.
