Witness appeal following robbery

Humberside Police is appealing for witnesses following an alleged attempted robbery at the Westgate junction with Leys Road, Bridlington between 1930hrs and 1945hrs on Saturday 31 January 2015.

A 31-year-old man was walking along Westgate alone carrying a carrier bag in each hand when an unknown person approached him from behind and pushes him to the ground.

The offender then allegedly demanded the victim’s money before punching him in the face. However the victim managed to get to his feet and defended himself before the offender left without stealing anything.

The victim sustained a small cut to his face but did not required any medical treatment.

The suspect is described as 5ft 8ins tall with a muscular upper half and was aged in his late 20s to early 30’s.

Local house to house enquiries have been undertaken.
