COMPLETELY unnecessary – that is how the manager of a charity shop has described the damage caused to its glass door over the weekend.

The upper and lower glass panels in the door of the RSPCA shop, on Quay Road were
damaged between 4.50pm last Friday, and 8.30am the next morning.

Shop manager Ann Robson said: “It’s just so unnecessary. At the moment we have so many animals in care, which the money should be going to.”

At the time of going to press it was not yet known how much the repairs to the double glazed laminated glass panels would cost, but Mrs Robson said it would push up the cost of their insurance cover.

“We have insurance but we have to cover our excess so it’s going to put our excess up,” she said.

Humberside Police are now investigating the matter and have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the damage being caused or has any information about it to come forward.

Anyone with any information should call 101 quoting crime reference number CW/1923499/12.
