Armed police have stood down and a man has been arrested after they were called to Langtoft near Bridlington and Driffield.
Around 10 police cars, the police helicopter and specially trained armed officers attended the scene on Back Street in Langtoft at around 1pm.
One resident said: “The people living on the Back Street have been keeping everyone informed on Facebook. They’ve said it has ended well and he’s been arrested.”
The area was cordoned off while the armed police dealt with the incident.
Resident Geoff Goodwin added: “The police arrived at around 1pm. I’m not sure but I think the man held himself up in his house with a gun.”
Police were stood down around 5pm.
Humberside Police have yet to comment on the incident.
